Any solution consisting of
a three-dimensional arrangement of the elements,
however expressed, at least one of which is an
active element, and of all or some interconnections
in an integrated circuit, shall be considered
as a topography of an integrated circuit, referred
to as a “topography”. An integrated circuit shall
mean any three – dimensional product having one
or more layers, composed of elements of semiconducting
material forming a continuous layer and of conducting
interconnections and insulating spaces, inseparably
interconnected, intended to perform electronic
functions

The topography of integrated circuits has a registration
capability when it is original and new and it
is a result of an intellectual work of an author,
is not commonly known and has not been exploited
within a period of 15 years from its fixation
or encoding in any form.
A protection expires 10 years from the end of
a year, wherein a topography or an integrated
circuit was introduced into the market or from
the end of a year of filing, depending on which
period expires earlier/
The data/documents necessary for filing a
topography of integrated circuits are as follows:
- name and address of the Applicant
- name and address of the author
- indication of the right of an
Applicant for obtaining a protection /if different
than author/.
- determination of a technical
function of a topography,
- material identifying a topography
/given on a drawing or a photography/ for: producing
an integrated circuit, mask or a fragment of
a mask for producing an integrated circuit,
layers of an integrated circuit.
- statement of an Applicant concerning
a date of the first introduction of a topography
of an integrated circuit into the market /if
occurred before filing/,
- assignment of the rights /if
Applicant is not an Author/,
- power of attorney document, signed
by the authorised representative of the Applicant
given with name, surname and position.
